Solution

When you do exponents you times the regular number by itself, in this problem the number is 5. We call this number the base.
when we times the base by itself we get the answer 25. But how? Let me break it down for you.
The power or exponent (in this problem, the power is 2) tells us how much we multiply the base (5).
So we times 5 by 5.
If you know your basic multiplication 5 x 5 = 25
