Algebra 2 Tutorial
Factoring Quadratic Equations
Intro
Factoring quadractic equations is an essential skill in Algebra 2. This skill may seem difficult at first but it’s actually pretty simple once you understand the steps.
Solution
x^2-7x+2=-10 Set the equation equal to 0 and add 10 to both sides x^2-7x+2+10=0 Add 10+2 and begin factoring x^2-7x+12=0 For factoring look at what numbers add to -7 and multiply to +12 (x-4)(x-3)=0 Now set up the individual equations x-4=0 or x-3=0 Solve for x x=4 or x=3
