Solution

1. Separate the two values into their expanded form:
200+30+4+300+60+6=?
2. Group them by place value:
200+300+30+60+4+6=?
3. Add the numbers that belong in the same place value:
200+300+30+60+4+6
=500+90+10
4. Add the resulting numbers together:
500+90+10
=590+10
=600
