power rule

Intro

The power rule says that if n is a real number, the derivative of xn = nxn-1

Sample Problem

find the derivative of f(x)=10×3-15×2

Solution

Find the derivative of f(x)=10×3-15×2
F’(x)= (10×3-15×2)’
=(10×3)’-(15×2)’ apply the difference rule
=10(x3)’-15(x2)’ apply the constant multiple rule
=10(3×2)-15(2x) apply the power rule
=30×2—30x
