Rough Drafts

Start with a rough draft-that is, get all your ideas down on paper. After that, provide some structure by creating an outline and the main points you want to make in the paper. Start large with the main idea and then add supporting statements. Then get more specific. Go online or use other research material that either supports your main idea or counteracts it and then fill in the gaps.

Sample Problem

Sharks are misunderstood creatures of the sea. for years, sharks have incurred the wrath of sailors and swimmers because of their predatory habits. But sharks provide a balance to the aquatic systems by managing fish populations.

Main idea: sharks

Two supporting statemnts:

Two counteracting statements.
