Hi my name is Alison Leach, growing up I always had trouble getting a grasp of concepts when I was in elementary, middle, and high school. Because I had so much trouble understanding I, personally, became really good at looking at the information presented to me in such a way to where my brain would remember the information. I have worked with my disabled brother to help him learn skills for everyday life for many years now. Because of this I've learned to quickly adapt to any learning situation I am thrown in. Also I am very easy going and willing to work with each student in order to find out what the best way they learn is. I have learned how to be patient. When kids don't understand something I work with them for as long as it takes to help them understand. I feel that learning should not be seen as a chore but as fun, interesting, and exciting. I want to work with students so I can help bring fun back into learning, because who doesn't like fun? Am I right? During high school my friends and I constantly had study groups and the group always looked to me to come up with fun, unique ways to memorize the information. Im excited to get to work with kids and to help nurture that love for learning that we all have. Also I would like to teach kids that everyone learns different and just because they don't understand something it doesn't mean they are any less smart. I hope to teach kids long lasting skills that they can use all throughout school to help them maintain information and have a good time learning. I must say that even through I don't have a lot of professional experience I have loads of personal experience in teaching myself and others information.
