Special Education Specialist Looking For Work In Tutoring/Academic Mentoring
I have a Master of Education degree from Harvard University, am currently working on the writing portion of my Ph.D dissertation in Special Education, and am looking for part-time work in tutoring or academic mentoring.
With teaching, mentoring, and tutoring experience helping children and adults (with and without disabilities) improve their academic skills and executive functioning, I am well-positioned to help students develop effective planning and time management strategies, complete class assignments, and achieve greater academic success. In my work, I utilize an individualized approaches, scheduling tools, and self-monitoring strategies that are catered to the cognitive strengths and weaknesses of each student.
I have additional experience as an administrative manager for a non-profit, a research assistant on autism and dyslexia studies in a brain-imaging lab, and as a contributor to The Huffington Post on politics and education.
