Profile

Gabriel R. Jimenez is a former employee of the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan involved in the manufacturing and testing of several models; the Ford Mustang and the Lincoln Town Car, retiring after 33 years of service. As a retired member of the United States Army Reserves, I served in several assignments; Operation Enduring Freedom, Operations Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. My final assignment would be as the Sergeant Major for the Directorate of Mobilization and Deployment at Fort Bliss, Texas. Mobilizing. Deploying and returning Our Soldiers to their families. During my time there I would be involved in the movement of over 90,000 Soldiers from every branch of the military in the United States.
I was awarded a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Psychology and am presently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Gerontology.
I am presently an Associate Professor, teaching Military History, Directorate of Training and Doctrine, at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.
Providing large and small group instruction in any of the five core areas of the Academy, in either instructional strategy. We allow students to communicate reasoning and decisions with faculty both orally and in writing. I anticipate student challenges, and determine “teachable moments”, stories, and examples to support learning and provide access to learning materials.
I understand the differences between the pedagogy methods of instruction (teaching young children), the andragogy methods of instruction (teaching adult learners), and utilize the five distinct phases (Concrete Experience, Publish and Process, Generalize New Information, Develop, and Apply) of Experiential Learning Model to support the andragogy method of instruction. I am looking forward to our learning experience.
