Math was never my strongsuit as a kid, but it became my favorite subject once I realized how applicable it is in our daily lives. Later in high school, I began helping friends with pre algebra and geometry, and discovered that every individual learns differently and uniquely. As I grew older, I volunteered in various capacities mainly in the areas of arithmetic and algebra. Seeing someone grasp an area of understanding that was once unknown to them and knowing that I had an impact on them is one of the most fulfilling rewards life can offer.
When deciding on a college major I looked to see which engineering branch had the most math courses in its curriculum. This is how I decided on electrical engineering. My engineering career has offered plenty of opportunities. However, the desire to teach math has always been in the back of my mind.
I'm also fluent in Spanish.
