I hold a Ph.D. in French Literature and Culture from The Ohio State University. My extensive experience as an Instructor of French Language, Literature, and Culture makes me an exceptional candidate for the position outlined in your notice.
I am a devoted educator with substantial and diverse experience. In addition to having taught all levels of French Language and hexagonal French and African Francophone Literature and Culture, I have taught English as a Foreign Language at Le Collège Albert Camus in Gaillac, France and at L’École des Mines in Nancy, France and French as a Second Language in Brest, France.
As an instructor one of my consistent goals has been to stay current of all of the latest pedagogical techniques as well as the most recent advances in the technology used in language instruction. In fact, I have considerable experience with many alternative methods of instruction. While at Indiana University I taught Readings in French Literature in Translation as an online course. This was a very exciting opportunity, and I believe that online courses are a valuable tool in the advancement of the liberal arts education. Ultimately, my teaching style is to create a collaborative and active learning environment, whether it be in the classroom or online. I am very proud that my students leave my courses with a strong knowledge of the language, literature, and, often, a heretofore-unknown appreciation of French and Francophone cultures.
