Recent Graduate With Extensive Chemistry Tutoring Experience
I am a recent graduate of Baylor University with a B.S. in Chemistry and minor in Business Administration. I grew up in Albuquerque, NM and moved back after graduation. I also attended Sandia High School and graduated in 2013. During high school, I took various AP classes including AP Chemistry and AP Calculus AB and BC (Calc 1 and 2 college equivalence). In college, I took at least two semesters of each major sect of chemistry with lecture and laboratory courses as a part of an American Chemical Society certified program. I excelled in both my high school and college careers, achieving a 4.7 and 3.9 GPAs respectively and graduating as valedictorian of my high school class.
I also have three years of experience as a Supplemental Instruction (SI) leader for general chemistry and analytical chemistry courses. As an SI leader, I provided regularly scheduled, out-of-class study sessions for the students of the course I had previously taken and excelled in. I created my own curriculum for the study sessions that gave the students extra practice and a better understanding of the course's material. As an SI leader, I was able to help students better grasp the material and improve their problem-solving and test taking skills. I also acquired a lot of experience working with students and learned many unique teaching techniques.
