Emily has worked for the past 11 years as an AP United States History Teacher in the Chicago area. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and an expert in American History. She earned her undergraduate degree in history from Illinois State University. Then, earned a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She is currently pursuing a second master's in American History from Pace University. Having taken 30 hours of graduate coursework in American History and worked as a reader for the College Board, she has a clear understanding of US History content and the requirements of the AP Exam. She prides herself with effectively preparing her students with the ability to construct and synthesize historical arguments. Emily strives to help her students master the content and develop essential skills that will bring success on the AP exam and in the future.
Emily also has experience preparing students for the reading portion of the SAT. She can help students feel more confident with the types of passages and questions they will see on the exam.
