College Student, Art Major, AD/HD, English Enthusiast?
I'm a college freshman Art major, currently enrolled at SLCC. I have never tutored in a professional setting before, but I have always been one to help peers inside and outside of the classroom. I'm looking to tutor students struggling with ELA. I've always excelled at English and writing, with an average score of 28 on the English/Reading portions of the ACT. Being a person with AD/HD I'm open to tutor those with AD/HD as well. I feel it's important for students with AD/HD to be able to relate to someone who thinks the same way they do, and having a tutor with a similar cognitive advantage helps a student feel secure that they are just as capable as their peers who don't have AD/HD. Furthermore, having AD/HD as a child made homework an uphill battle, so I'm more than willing to help elementary/middle school students with any/all homework to the best of my ability.
