Jennifer van Alstyne, a poet and scholar has been published recently in journals including The Citron Review, COG, Crack the Spine, ELKE, The Foundling Review, Paper Nautilus, Stonecoast Review, Sweet Tree Review. She holds a B.A. from Monmouth University and an M.F.A. from Naropa University where she was the Jack Kerouac Fellow.
She is a graduate teaching assistant in Literature and Cultural Studies at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her primary area of research is place, landscape, and representations of nature in medieval literature. She reviews books of contemporary poetry for Colorado Review and Rain Taxi, and her peer-reviewed articles can be found in Appositions and Midwest Quarterly.
She is a CLRA Level 1 certified tutor, and has 6 years of tutor and tutor coordinating experience. She teaches undergrads composition and literature.
