I know how stressful academics can be and the pressures that students face when trying to get the required grades needed to continue with their next educational pursuit. I personally struggled throughout my undergraduate degree when at Queen's University so I am understanding and patient with those who are also struggling. Things improved for me when I was in Teacher's College and I truly believe it's because I fell in love with working in an educational environment with students of all ages.
For the past 10 years, I have worked with student leaders at the University of Toronto. My current work has been catered towards building confidence in students, which enables them to feel good about their efforts both in and out of the classroom.
It is the one-on-one relationship between teacher and student that I enjoy the most about being an educator. By giving someone your undivided attention, there is the opportunity to get to know each other at a level of understanding that cannot be achieved in a classroom setting.
