Writing And Math Expert And SAT And ACT Instructor
I'm a rising junior at William & Mary who's a history and business double-major. I love to write, and I contribute articles and photographs to two publications on campus: Rocket Magazine, the campus's premier fashion publication, and Spoon University William & Mary, a foodie website by and for college students. In addition to writing, however, I also find math of particular interest because of its symmetry and neat logic. I'm originally from Arlington, VA, and I attended Georgetown Visitation in Washington, D.C. At Visitation, I learned I had a passion for writing through outlets like the school's literary magazine, "The Georgetowner", and through classes like A.P. European History and A.P. French. In addition to the humanities, I also found I really liked math--particularly trigonometry and calculus--because of its symmetry and logic. The equations may get more complicated and the answers harder to find, but behind the strange-looking letters and symbols still lies a simple yet beautiful pattern. My favorite part about pursuing knowledge, however, lies in piecing information I've acquired from each field and seeing how so many seemingly-unrelated subject areas can fit together. However, that's just part of the fun of learning--I yearn to teach children the rest.
