Compassionate English Educator Ready To Change The World
I hold two Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from West Virginia University. I recently graduated from Shepherd University with my Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Secondary English Education. I have been in Middle School and High School classrooms throughout my Master's program as both a Practicum Student and a Student Teacher. I am familiar with both West Virginia and Virginia State Standards and can write creative, fun lesson plans. I have also had experience in a Pre-School classroom for a calendar school year during my time at West Virginia University for my Psychology degree. I am one step away from being a licensed teacher in West Virginia, as I need to take my final Praxis PLT examination. I exceeded the score necessary for my Praxis Content examination.
I have a passion to ignite a fire in our youth to love learning. Learning is indeed a lifelong process, and students deserve to have someone encourage the process of learning: both the triumphs and the hardships. Both ends of the spectrum are required for authentic learning to come to fruition. I have a love for reading and writing, and hope to instill that same passion in all students I come across during my career as a tutor and a teacher.
