South Berwick, ME
AP Calculus, Physics, And Statistics Student
My name is Matthew Teague. I am a graduating senior from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. I will be attending Northeastern University in the fall.
During my senior year, I took AP (college level) Calculus, Physics, and Statistics classes. I attained an A in all 3 courses. I am very confident in my understanding of these subjects.
In my AP Calculus class, I befriended an international student named Percy. Percy is from China, and speaks English as a second language. At the beginning of the year, Percy often asked me questions about what we were learning in Calculus. Eventually we started working on homework together. Since then I have tutored Percy, helping him to also achieve an A in the class.
Helping Percy with Calculus has taught me the rewards and challenges of tutoring. I have learned to explain math concepts clearly and logically enough so that even someone who is still learning English can understand. I have also learned patience, having spent many hours tutoring Percy late at night, often explaining the same concept more than once.
I have found that I greatly enjoy tutoring, and I hope to continue to share my understanding of math and science this summer.
Thank you for considering me as a tutor.
