Biology, Chemistry, Statistics Tutor
Welcome to my profile page! I am new to the Triangle Area, but whole-heartedly appreciate how the community has taken me in so quickly. Originally from Wisconsin where I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, I am currently in a Masters program at Duke University studying toxicology. My greatest scholarly interests are in examining how statistics can be used to better understand complex biological problems - such as understanding how and why certain chemical compounds are toxic to plants and animals. Learning is not always fun, but it is hard work. To make learning fun, I like to find creative ways to answer questions I'm posed. I like to apply this principle to tutoring, as it helps me learn to become a better teacher. As an undergraduate I have tutored many of my younger peers in biological sciences and have provided teaching assistance to professors in my department. During this time, I preferred to use more interaction than communication in my teaching to make the process of learning better for the students and I. If you're in need of a biology, chemistry, or statistics tutor and have more questions for me, feel free to message me!
