I have spent upwards of 5 years providing ABA therapy to children with Autism. I have tutored/taught neurotypical kids as well in a school environment. I believe I am qualified for this position due to my extensive work with children on the autism spectrum, as well as other developmental disabilities. I have a passion to work with children and to see them not only meet their goals, but to far exceed them.
I have training and extensive practice in tutoring and 1:1 work with a vast age range of children. I have excelled in colleges that I have attended, receiving high honors at Green River College and receiving the student of the year award for Lakewood College. My strengths lie in tutoring writing, reading, and logic.
I did not have much help through primary school, and when I had help, it was from impatient and upset tutors. I had to learn how to excel on my own. I know that having a patient and understanding tutor that never gives up on you can make quite a difference. I want to give what I never had.
Having the pleasure of working with children with ranging disabilities, I learned to develop the ability to have the utmost patience for many different types of situations. This has helped me in the overall big picture of life, to address every situation with understanding and the ability to put myself in another individual's shoes. The experiences I have had and the jobs I have held have helped me become the best tutor I can be.
