Youth Tutor, Philosophy Tutor, English Tutor
I have two different experiences tutoring. My first began during my time at my university tutoring english and philosophy to both majors and non-majors of the respective subjects. The key to this specific tutoring position relied on me taking very difficult philosophic topics, breaking them down, and putting them into language students could understand. This required an acute sense of who the student is, their learning style, and how to put things in words that can be commonly understood without any loss of meaning.
My other experience is my current role in an after-school style program tutoring, teaching, and playing with youth k-12. This role assists students in their homework from school where subjects vary from math to english. I also have to prepare curriculum and lesson plans as we're required to do educating like a teacher would. This job introduced me more into what it's like to be a teacher and have creative control over the educative material.
