## Profile

I have a Master's degree in mathematics and a Bachelor's degree in Biology. I am a state certified teacher with over 8 years of experience teaching at the secondary and college levels. In a Collegiate Scholars Program, I taught Algebra and Chemistry to gifted high school students. My approach to teaching these subjects is conceptual. I train my students to make connections between the abstraction of Algebra and real-world applications. I am currently an SAT/ACT Test Prep Instructor at a Florida University. I tutor in advanced Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry, etc,.

In my experience, I've found that students learn mathematics most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in problem solving. Because of this, I will teach you problem solving strategies and help you improve mathematical proficiency through challenging problems. I will also help you build mathematical intuition needed to break down difficult concepts. I am able to really break down problems for better understanding and love to explain concepts from many different angles to help with anxiety and to build your confidence level. Math can be tricky but I will make it easier and fun!

I give both individual and group sessions. I am usually available in the mornings and afternoons, but I'm flexible with students. My sessions are of two types; one for assigned work (homework, tests, etc.) and one centered on problem solving techniques and methods of proof. I assign problems once a week, to give you more practice with what you've learned. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, but I offer makeup sessions.

I look forward to hearing from you! I'll help you succeed in your studies!
