Historian Of Eastern Asian Studies
Hey, my name is Rob. I'm 21 years old and i graduated with a BS in History from SUNY Oneonta up in New York. School is tough - i'll be the first to admit that. My personal experience was extra tough because due to financials i took extra classes in order to graduate in 3 years rather than a full 4. Therefore, if you're struggling with your studies just know there are tons of people, like me, who have been through it as well who are willing to help out.
My focus is that of History. My primary historical focus is that of Eastern Asian studies, specifically pertaining to China, Japan, and Korea, as well as an equally concise focus on that of FDR and the New Deal/1930's Era of America. That being said, i have experience writing and researching vastly different areas.
History isn't just knowing facts. Although knowing details is certainly important, the most important factor of history is research and writing. Historians spend countless hours researching, just so they can spend countless more hours writing, and the best part is they don't memorize "facts" while doing so - they literally write them down and reference them later, so there's no need for memorization. The memorization aspect simply comes over time as you deal with material more often.
With my tutoring i aim to help people develop strong critical reading and writing skills which are absolutely desired in a variety of jobs in a multitude of fields. Although, if you need help memorizing facts, i can help there as well :-)
