Veteran Test-prep Coach With 12+ Years Of Experience; BS/MBA (SAT, ACT, SSAT, SATII, Etc.)
Hello! My name is Rich and I am passionate about helping students break down and solve the puzzle that is standardized testing. I have worked with dozens of students since 2006, with several achieving perfect scores and others improving an average of 200 points from their pre-tutoring scores.
Using a modular lesson plan, I work with my students to identify and tackle areas of weaknesses, minimizing time spent on familiar topics and maximizing time spent on more difficult topics. This translates to more efficient lessons and maximizing your financial investment.
I strive to maintain a low-stress and encouraging environment for my students, often incorporating humor and helpful anecdotes into my lessons. Why? From my own experiences, students are often under tremendous pressure to perform and I have found that this is not conducive to learning. On the other hand, I find that students perform at their best when they are relaxed and engaged, making my lessons much more effective.
After graduating from Boston University in 2009 with a Finance degree, I worked in analytics for several years in the media and tech industries. In 2014, I returned to academia and obtained my MBA from Babson College. I am currently working in the education field at a startup helping set up mentorship programs at K12 and higher ed institutions to connect their incoming students with their young alumni.
I look forward to working with you and/or your child!
