Engineer With Teaching/Tutoring Experience
Hey! my name is Salme (Sal-may) but I've often gone by Sally. I have always loved math and science and followed that passion to receiving two degrees in engineering. I balance the math and science by reading a lot of books (mostly fiction – I love stories!) and also stay active playing soccer, running and hiking. I have always found a way to be involved in tutoring, teaching, or coaching in some way. I have been a camp counselor at an outdoor education camp as well as coached soccer to players from the age of 6 to college age. In college I tutored chemistry and calculus and graded for several math courses. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant in probability and statistics where I taught in groups as well as worked with students individually. I received an excellent teaching award from the American Society of Civil Engineers my second year of teaching. Currently I'm in my first year as a PhD student at UNH studying Oceanography.
If you think that I could be a good fit for your tutoring needs please dont hesitate to contact me!
I also try and limit my driving time to less than a half hour from my home in Dover. I have in the past met with students at public libraries halfway between or for more than 1 hour in home (to make the driving time worthy of the tutoring time). I am willing to work something out :-)
