My name is Sean Brown, and I was born in Brooklyn Park, MN. I grew up in Brooklyn Park with my parents and three sisters. The three schools I have attended are Birch Grove Elementary, Brooklyn Junior High, and Park Center International Baccalaureate Senior High. After I attended Winona State University when I graduated high school in 2012. While studying at WSU, I was involved with a group called Kids First. Kids first is a free after school care for low-income children and young adults in Winona. After completing field experience at Kids First for a semester; I decided to continue working with the middle and high school aged kids in a program called College Bound. This program was a part of Kids First, but we would take the kids in the program to WSU campus and show them how fun and beneficial college can be for them. In my last year in Winona I decided to get involved with child care at the Winona YMCA. I started as a camp counselor in the summer, but switched as an after school care staff when the school year started. The YMCA has been an amazing experience for me as an inspiring teacher. I have learned many things about how to deal with troubled children and how to make connections with them.
