Profile
I have loved science my whole life and sharing that love is a passion of mine. Science can and should be fun. When tutoring, the first thing I do is to spend some time with the student to get to know a few things: interests, hobbies, reasons for wanting a tutor, etc. By listening to and understanding the audience, tutoring science becomes relevant and less intimidating for the student...when that is accomplished, the grades take care of themselves. In other words, I feel that it is important to teach the 'hows' and the 'whys' along with the 'whats.'
I have a BS in physics/chemistry and recently finished a Masters program in teaching (MAT) with endorsements in physics (high school) and integrated science (middle school). I have had a number of careers and experiences in my lifetime that add perspective and wisdom to my teaching. If you or your student need help getting over a hurdle in science, please contact me...I'm confident that we can remove the mystery and bolster the mastery.
